January 23, 2022 — Some of the best teams in NCAA Division III men’s college basketball are in Northeast Ohio this season, and two schools in the nation’s “Top Ten” will match up against each other soon.

The No. 3-ranked Mount Union University’s Purple Raiders, 16-1, 9-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) travel to  No. 8-ranked John Carroll University, 15-2, also 9-1 in OAC, in a major NCAA DIII hoops clash on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Mount Union edged the Blue Streaks 75-72 when these two teams last met, on December 7 in Alliance.

Homecourt advantage for the OAC’s post-season tournament, and a possible hosting of a round of the NCAA Division III playoff tournament, could rest on the outcome of this contest.
