BROADVIEW HTS, NOV 8 – More than 200 attendees filled Slavic Full Gospel Church for the opening of the 2025 Strategic Sumit of Ukrainian Ministries Friday. The United Pentecostal Assembly featured more than a dozen participating pastors and bishops from Ukraine and nearly a dozen more pastors and ministries leaders from throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe.

The session began with a robust prayer and worship period. Pastor Peter Trokhimenko, lead pastor at SFGC since 2023, welcomed attendees. He and Roman Skalsky, a member of SFGC’s elder board, thanked more than a dozen different organizations and people for their steadfast support for the people and the nation of Ukraine stemming from Russia’s wanton invasion there in February 2022.

One of those honored was New Horizons for Children, a  Northeast Ohio ministry which has been providing life-saving homes and help for orphans and abandoned children in Ukraine, even before the Russian invasion began.  (You can find details at www.nhfc.org.  Eyeoncleveland.com will be doing a follow-up story on this ministry.)

A featured speaker for the evening was Roman Sheremeta, Ph.D., associate professor of economics at the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, one of the founders of American University Kyiv, and an ardent and tireless advocate for Ukrainian freedom. Here are his various social media outlets:
